Please refer to the “Eastham Genealogy Information Project” link above.

Elmer Eastham12 (1/9/1885-1/28/1903, Carrolton County, Arkansas) was the first-born child of Milliner Charles and Annie Eastham and died from measles when he was 18 years old. Based on other sources, he may also have been kicked by a mule. He is buried in Carrolton Cemetery, Carrolton, Carrol County, Arkansas. His tombstone was located when Elva Charlene (Eastham) Tucker13, Vernon William Tucker, Charles Virgil Eastham12 and Christell Eastham made the trip to find Elmer’s grave. When they located the grave, the stone had fallen – they got in touch with the caretakers while they were there and were assured that it would be set back up – recent photos on “Find a Grave” show that it was.

Family lore has it that Annie (Harrison) Eastham was pregnant at the time Elmer took sick and was not able to visit him before he passed. Marvin wasn’t born until about a year and a half after Elmer’s death, so it’s possible that Annie was pregnant and lost a child before Marvin’s birth. Lore has hinted at a still-born girl being buried next to Elmer, but there doesn’t appear to be a stone there. The newspaper announcement of Annie’s death states that they had 9 children, only 8 have been discovered/named.
