This is my GoPro 11 with the media mod mounted on my ancient Arthur Fulmer helmet with the Dango Design Gripper Mount. I only just started trying it out, but I believe it’s going to be a great piece of kit!

The jaw on the Gripper has a good strong hold on the chin piece of the helmet, and the black rubber piece won’t slip or scratch. The Gripper comes with a safety lanyard that you can attach to the helmet strap for a bit more security, but I haven’t used it yet.

The GoPro finger mounts are attached to the clip body by a C-clip and spring.

The captive nut on the Gripper finger mounts is sent uninstalled, and fits extremely tightly in the molded recess. It’s also supplied with a standard GoPro mounting screw.
I placed the nut in the recess and threaded the screw into it to pull it in and seat it. I was afraid the screw pressure would compress the mounting fingers and break or bend them, so I installed the GoPro on the mount to take up the space while I tightened the screw and pulled the nut into the recess.
That seemed to do the trick, and mine tightens to within a 1/4 turn of stock GoPro components.

I’m going to get some Ulanzi quick release mounts to raise the camera up just a little bit.

I’ve got to find some longer screws for this setup – the media mod sticks out just enough to interfere with the stock screws. They do have a Philips screw in the middle that you can tighten/loosen with a screwdriver, but that’s just one more thing to fuss with.
Some footage I took on my first test ride using the Gripper. Middle Tennessee on a beautiful February day.
Thanks to Sterling Noren for all the photography tips. He has some great motorcycle adventure videos on YouTube. Definitely check him out!
